Welcome to the Juvenile Court of Shelby County
Probation and Court Services
We want to provide information that will help you better understand and navigate the juvenile court process and provide resources to help your child and family.
Juvenile Court is a division of District Court and is responsible for addressing matters concerning dependency, children in need of supervision (CHINS) and delinquent cases involving children younger than 18 years of age. All cases are processed through an Intake Officer. To initiate a case/petition or if you have questions, please contact the office (205-669-3831) to speak to Intake Officer Kelly Campbell or contact her by email.
We strive to provide quality service beginning at intake and assist you and your child through this process. If your child has been arrested and is facing delinquent charges or you are having difficulty with your child at home or school, we have a committed group of field probation officers that will assist you and your child.
Please do not hesitate to call should you have questions or need assistance.
