Vincent

The town of Vincent, like most Shelby County towns, is almost as old as the State of Alabama. Founded by the Kidd family who was granted the land in the early 1800s, Vincent was eventually incorporated as a town in 1897.

Like many Shelby County towns, it saw great periods of growth early on. Fertile soil and picturesque landscapes made it the ideal place to settle, and the farming community was very large. Vincent has also been a pioneer in education since the first school was built there in 1854, and in 1993 Vincent became the first community in Alabama to introduce a year-round school calendar.

Today, Vincent’s growth has been steady with the rest of Shelby County, and when you find out about all of the exciting things happening in the community, it’s easy to see why!

Thriving Community

Vincent isn’t very big so there must be nothing to do, right? Wrong! The community in Vincent is booming. Each year, the calendar is full of fun events.

This past August, Vincent hosted their 10th annual Vincent In The Park Festival. This brought local talented musicians out to celebrate the summer in a family-friendly environment with a great atmosphere! There were food trucks, arts and crafts, and local vendors that made the experience unforgettable. So, don’t forget to mark your calendars for next year!

Another treasured local event is the Vincent Christmas parade. This is a great way to get into the holiday spirit and bring the family out for a night full of memories. And don’t miss a chance to see Alabama’s largest living Christmas tree while you’re in town!

Keep an eye on the calendar on the City of Vincent website for all the events you and your family won’t want to miss.
